About this project

Tour Planner Egypt is a graduation project (TM471) at the Faculty of Computer Studies, Arab Open University – Egypt. It combines a hybrid recommender system (content-based + collaborative filtering) with context data (weather, events) and route optimisation to generate personalised itineraries.

Built with PHP and MySQL, Leaflet/OpenStreetMap, the Open-Meteo weather API and Google Maps links. A Python port of the recommender was used for the offline evaluation. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences (see Photo credits).

Ticket prices and opening hours are indicative and can be updated by the administrator. Payments use a sandbox gateway; no real money is charged.
